Phonetic 

Pinyin is a system used to represent the sounds of Mandarin Chinese with the Latin alphabet. It is the most commonly used method for writing Mandarin phonetically and is especially helpful for learning correct pronunciation and typing Chinese characters on digital devices.

Although Pinyin uses the same letters as English, its pronunciation rules are different, and some sounds do not exist in English. Because of this, it takes time to become familiar with how it works.

If it feels challenging at first, that’s completely normal. Mastering Pinyin requires consistent practice, and improvement comes gradually with repeated use.
